About Me
As an educator with over six years ‘experience, in O and A-level physics, O level Global perspectives, and DP physics (CAT 1 Certified), I have built my career in a variety of roles as an educator of science and humanities as well as working with multiple edtech startups. Creative lesson plans and boundless energy are what I consider to be my hallmarks for which I was recently selected to design STEAM content for a middle school with holistic learning objectives. This is part of a nationwide STEM program where hands-on learning and STEM connections are made easy through a year-long program culminating in a 10-day technical summer school.
Watching the students enjoy science in its true spirit has truly been a liberating experience so far. This brings me to my second startup initiative, an online learning platform where we are making content in the native language to break science out of mathematical and dense jargon into the lucidity of common sense. I have been designing pathways for students to engage with the curriculum, keeping a balance between learning objectives and triggering the imagination.
My passion for science and humanities is reflected distinctively in my professional journey. Beginning with my first teaching job conducting a philosophy club where my ultimate goal was to normalize asking questions, equip students with adequate emotional intelligence to emerge antifragile from setbacks and failures and practice intellectual humility.
As a technology enthusiast, the integration of technology, particularly LMS and AI, into the classroom setting and choosing mediums to communicate concepts more effectively has become an obsessive hobby especially as the pandemic has brought about a greater need for it.
Being a life-long learner, the aftertaste of my own engineering education is the mindset to solve problems. As John Cotton Dana says,” He who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” I have always enjoyed learning how to teach because a teacher has to lead by example as a life-long learner.
