As an educator with over six years ‘experience, in O and A-level physics, O level Global perspectives, and DP physics (CAT 1 Certified), I have built my career in a variety of roles as an educator of science and humanities as well as working with multiple edtech startups. Creative lesson plans and boundless energy are what I consider to be my hallmarks for which I was recently selected to design STEAM content for a middle school with holistic learning objectives. This is part of a nationwide STEM program where hands-on learning and STEM connections are made easy through a year-long program culminating in a 10-day technical summer school. Watching the students enjoy science in its true spirit has truly been a liberating experience so far. This brings me to my second startup initiative, an online learning platform where we are making content in the native language to break science out of mathematical and dense jargon into the lucidity of common sense. I have been designing pathways for students to engage with the curriculum, keeping a balance between learning objectives and triggering the imagination. My passion for science and humanities is reflected distinctively in my professional journey. Beginning with my first teaching job conducting a philosophy club where my ultimate goal was to normalize asking questions, equip students with adequate emotional intelligence to emerge antifragile from setbacks and failures and practice intellectual humility. As a technology enthusiast, the integration of technology, particularly LMS and AI, into the classroom setting and choosing mediums to communicate concepts more effectively has become an obsessive hobby especially as the pandemic has brought about a greater need for it. Being a life-long learner, the aftertaste of my own engineering education is the mindset to solve problems. As John Cotton Dana says,” He who dares to teach must never cease to learn.” I have always enjoyed learning how to teach because a teacher has to lead by example as a life-long learner.

I'm a proud alumnus of Purdue University, where I earned my degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering and discovered my passion for teaching as an undergraduate student. One of my students earned the Top in Pakistan distinction in A Level Physics and my guidance has helped teams make their mark in regional and international STEM competitions, including ARSSDC. As the founder of an EdTech startup, OctiLearn, I'm deeply interested in transforming the way in which STEM is taught, hence my desire to stay connected to students through physics. My efforts have been recognized on a global scale - I was honored to be a spotlight speaker at the World Education Summit and a semifinalist in an International pitch competition in Dubai, selected from more than 700 participants worldwide. Currently, I serve as a judge for the early-stage US startup accelerator, Mass Challenge, leveraging my extensive experience to guide early-stage startups. I am keen to empower the new generation of STEM aspirants across the world and I look forward to empowering more students with the knowledge and critical thinking skills they need to excel. In my classes, you can expect to learn more than just O/A Level physics and O/A Level past exam questions. Students in my classes receive the following: - Profound insight into how to think like an engineer while learning physics - Exceptional understanding of technical concepts - Exceptional ability to think logically and critically - Deep insight into examiner requirements - Actionable suggestions / advice for increasing learning efficiency (greater improvement in less time) - Rigorous, application-based understanding of physics and STEM
